This song was written some twenty years ago in response to an article in Contemporary Christian Music magazine (CCM). The article suggested there weren't many songs written that dealt with thankfulness to God. This song was my response to this article. The intro plays with the melody from an old church hymn. "Come Ye Thankful People Come" and then busts in to an edgy rock feel where the listener is challenged to think about all that God has done for us and our sad lack of response. I hope you enjoy the song.
Thank You

My Songs
Nothing leaves me feeling more vulnerable and exposed and nothing fills me with more elation and fear than sharing these songs. In spite of this fear, the greatest driving force to developing this website is my need to share this material.
The songs cover a wide range of styles. I'm proud of them and yet sometimes I cringe at my lack of ability to perform and record these songs as well as they deserve to be.The songs are all home recordings, some with the help of friends. I hope they bring you joy, inspiration, encouragement, comfort and a deep sense that God is with us.
Thank You

Verse 1
The Artist’s Hand paints across the sky,
In glorious hues, no words could ever describe.
But you’d have thought this masterpiece was just a waste of time,
And the Artists’ work was all in vain by the lack of our reply.
Chorus
O are we too much in a hurry, to say thank you, thank you to the Lord?
O could it be that we’re just too much in a hurry to say thank you to the Lord?
O He just keeps on giving His children more.
If I were Him I think I’d feel a little ignored.
O don’t you think its time we take time. To say thank you,
Thank you to the Lord.
Verse 2
Have we, just not noticed all that He has done,
The beauty of creation, the price paid by His Son?
Do we think we could do better, or that He hasn’t done enough?
Or are we just so unimpressed by what He’s done at the cross?
Bridge
We don’t say thank you to each other. We don’t say thank you to any one.
We take so much for granted Father forgive us for what we have done.
