I was at a Sr. High camp at Sacramento Methodist Assembly in the early 90's and a female counselor shared a story of how she had lost her faith and the had it restored by hearing an evangelist tell her personally that she had been forgiven by God. Of course she had grown up in the church and heard these word's over and over again, "In the Name of Jesus Christ you are forgiven." Two thoughts occur to me, "Sometimes we just aren't ready to hear something" and, "You never know when it may be time to state the obvious". This song was born out of her testimony.

You Are Forgiven
By Billy Isidoro
Verse 1
See the woman at the well, her life's a living hell.
In the name of Jesus Christ, she is forgiven.
Another woman caught in sin, there's no way that she'll ever win.
The crowd said stone her, He just said you’re forgiven.
-Chorus
In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. (Repeat)
No matter what your sin, hear these words again,
In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
-Verse 2
Zaccheus was a wealthy man, he stole from the poor, now he understands.
In the name of Jesus Christ, he is forgiven
The soldiers nailed Him to a tree, He forgave them just like you and me.
It is finished! And we all are forgiven.
-Bridge
Remember His great sacrifice, God Himself has paid the price,
just to say, you are forgiven.
(We all are forgiven)
